Food halls are a dime a dozen in New York City at this point, but a new entry opening tomorrow in the Garment District is bringing actually exciting food options — Afghan comfort food from a Times critic-recommended food truck, Mexican fare from the beloved El Atoradero family, and some of the city’s best French baked goods from Maman — to the staid dining neighborhood. Beyond that, the Deco, at 231 West 39th Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues, occupies a luxe, Art Deco-inspired space that shies away from the ubiquitous industrial food hall look.
